INNOVATIVE BRISTOL COMPANY, SHOP4LAW, PRAISED IN GOVERNMENT DOCUMENT
Bristol-based Shop4Law, a revolutionary lawyer search website, has been referenced by the Government as a company ‘embracing new technology and marketing ideas' to make the legal system more accessible and user friendly to people in need of legal assistance. The recently published Department for Constitutional Affairs' (DCA) Draft Legal Services Bill details possible regulation reforms within the legal service.
The DCA commented that Shop4Law provides consumers with “a convenient and user-friendly way of finding a solicitor who is most closely aligned to their preferences”, and furthermore provides solicitors with “an innovative way to promote themselves and develop their businesses in a cost-effective way”.
Founded by Ben Hawkins and James Christacos, two experienced UK solicitors, in September 2005 Shop4Law brings a pioneering solution to the United Kingdom. When online, consumers are asked a series of relevant questions in order to make easy decisions about the best lawyer for them. The consumer then receives up to four lawyer profiles detailing their experience and then has access to a secure online messaging service to communicate with them prior to any instructions.
Commenting on Shop4Law's inclusion in the Government document Ben Hawkins said “The Internet is being embraced as an effective source of new business acquisition and Shop4Law shows how more traditional businesses, such as legal services, can use it to reach an untapped market. To be mentioned in the Regulatory Impact Assessment is a wonderful commendation and testament to the service we provide both to consumers and lawyers".
